Mr. Faraz A. Syed holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the College of Business Management, Institute of Business Management, Karachi. He is also ACCA, UK Finalist. A ‘Senior Executive’ in the Financial Industry, he holds almost 16 years of extensive, diversified experience in public and private sector domain in local and foreign markets. His core competence areas include Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory including Private Equity (PE) and M&A Advisory, Corporate Banking, Corporate Credit Risk Management, Funds / Investment Management and Arrangement & Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Advisory. He has been associated with leading brokerage houses, advisory firms, leading Big-5 Banks and the World Bank.
His Proficiency areas include dealing in Equity market Transactions (Equity Fund Raising through IPOs, OFS, Private Placements), Debt Advisory (Sukuk issuance and conventional funding), Transaction Advisory (M&A, PE, Private Placement, and PPP Advisory), Corporate/Institutional/GRE Lending (Portfolio Management, monitoring and facilitating trade finance, working capital, contracting and term-loan, project financing needs), Business Advisory (Feasibility Studies, Business Viability Studies, Cash Flow Analysis, Valuations and Business Plans), Risk Assessment & Management (Corporate Credit, Retail, Market and Operational risks), Infrastructure / Services development & Advisory (project development and execution), Public-Private Partnership domain (legal, institutional, financial framework, project development, approvals and execution, post execution monitoring), and Socio-Economic Impact Projects.
With direct exposure of drafting, and reviewing the Balochistan PPP Policy, Act, Rules and Guidelines, Mr. Faraz can assist in project development (both PPP and non-PPP) including technical and financial structuring and review, concession (contract) review, development and review of financial modelling, developing risk management, key performance indicator and Monitoring and evaluation matrix. He can also effectively assist in developing and reviewing the concept notes and feasibility studies to ensure alignment of the study with the Government’s objectives. Mr. Faraz has strong networking with the private sector and can also assist in on-boarding private investors to support various provincial initiatives.
